Biographical Sketch: Luis began his work with Kit Carson Electric Cooperative, Inc. in 1984 as a System Engineer before becoming CEO in 1994. Luis earned AA in General Studies from the New Mexico Military Institute in 1980 and BS in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1984. Luis is part of the NM Green Grid Initiative, Western Governors Association (WGA) Clean and Diversified Energy Advisory Committee (NM Representative) Governor’s Distributed Solar Energy Task Force. Under his leadership KCEC has deployed 43 KW Solar Canopy at KTAO Radio Station, a 100 KW Solar Canopy at KCEC Headquarters, and a 500 KW Solar Array at UNM Taos Klauer Campus, which is the largest solar photovoltaic project in the State of New Mexico.
